Sailing

The island has a marina in Velas and a support port in Calheta, both with good conditions to welcome sailors. By renting a boat, you can sail around the island and enjoy the landscape it offers, or continue your journey to the other islands of the central or eastern group, with the proximity to the islands of Pico and Faial being particularly noteworthy, as it’s a short trip.
